WQIP Workshop: Onsite Wastewater Systems in the Ozarks
The Watershed Committee held an educational workshop Tuesday, June 14th at the Onsite Wastewater Training Center at Valley Water Mill Park. The funding for this workshop was provided by the Water Quality Improvement Project grant. The workshop featured presentations from Soil Scientist Michael Bowers and Water Quality specialist Karen Elmer, both with Greene County Resource Management. The presentations inlcuded educating septic system owners about a variety of wastewater technology and the importance of maintaining their systems. A tour of the training center included advanced onsite wastewater systems and composting toilet demonsration. Partnering organizations include Environmental Resources Coaltion, Greene County and James River Basin Partnership.
