Kids in Class and a School of Fish
What better way to end a summer school session than spending the last class fishing? Springfield Public School students wrapped up their summer Splash! class fishing at Valley Water Mill Lake. This was the fourth visit the students made to the Watershed Center. During their field trips students learned a great deal about types of water pollution and what can be done to prevent it. While exploring the park, students also investigated how healthy land ecosystems are important to water quality. It was a real treat seeing many students catch their first fish. The second session of Splash! will begin on July 5th. We look forward to having many more students visiting the park.
