Water Wednesday ’Special Guest’

The Watershed Center was honored to have Sr. Leopold fellow Stan Temple as a guest to talk about Aldo Leopold’s conservation connections to Missouri.  Stan told fascinating stories of Leopold’s time in Missouri, especially trips along the Current River and the connections on how it shaped Aldo Leopold’s thinking and the future of conservation in America.  One great example was Aldo’s hand drawn hunting maps that ended up in the textbook ‘Game Management,’ which was really the first conservation oriented textbook in the world.  Over thirty peopled attended and lunch was home-cooked by J.D. Slaughter and Mike Kromrey.  We would like to thank Mr. Temple for taking the time to visit the Watershed Center.  For more information on Aldo Leopold, visit   https://www.aldoleopold.org/
