Some Springfield students recently had the chance to be interviewed by KY3 while visiting The Watershed Center on Friday. Immaculate Conception Catholic School brought fifty fifth grade students out for a day of hiking, fishing, and learning about our drinking water sources.

Volunteers that are part of our Site Steward program lead several small groups on an educational hike around the lake discussing:
karst topography
storm water runoff
best management practices
general ecology of the Ozarks region

During the hike, students spent time in the stream catching and identifying macro invertebrates. After the hike, the kids got to try their hand at fishing in Valley Water Mill Lake.

The day was a success and another great opportunity to spread the message of clean water!
