Learn more about Nate and the Beaver Watershed Alliance: Nate is the Geospatial Ecologist for the Beaver Watershed Alliance, a water quality non-profit located in Elkins, AR promoting voluntary best-management practices to landowners and municipalities in the 1,200 square mile Beaver Watershed and Beaver Lake itself, drinking water source for roughly 500,000 Arkansans. For over 10 years, Nate has worked in many aspects of ecology, natural resources management, and environmental education. As the Alliance’s Geospatial Ecologist, he works directly with public and private landowners to develop voluntary best-management strategies for addressing issues like erosion, invasive plant species, habitat improvement, and develops detailed maps and models demonstrating environmental features such as stormflow accumulation, streamside erosion zones, riparian interactions, developing databases to prioritize outreach efforts to target landowners, and helps promote a wholistic approach to watershed management for landowners in Northwest Arkansas, the 14-fastest growing region in the United States.
