As I was preparing for a recent presentation, I came across a forgotten folder in our photo archives and found this picture of Wilson’s Creek in 1979.  Yuck!  It’s no wonder that the James River was funky and the James River Arm of Table Rock was green!  Today, Wilson’s Creek and other urban streams are in much better shape than they were then.  This year marks the 40th anniversary of the main reason for the improvement–the Clean Water Act.  This legislation, which was passed resoundingly with bi-partisan support, has helped lead to the strides we have made in my lifetime, which are remarkable.
