In preparation for Greek Week at Missouri State University, students from Alpha Chi Omega sorority and Kappa Sigma fraternity came out for two hours yesterday afternoon and bagged up over 100 bags of trash in and around Jordan Creekl! The usual suspects (shopping carts, PVC pipes, and grocery bags) were collected in numbers, as well as carpeting, Styrofoam, and a few unexpected treasures!

In coordination with the Missouri Stream Teams, The city of Springfield, and The Watershed Committee of the Ozarks, these college students (about 150 of them) helped to make a huge impact on our stream, removing hundreds of pounds of garbage from the floodplain and stream channel itself. We are so very thankful to live in a community where everyone can find a way to help out our great little creeks.
