A Community of Support

The Watershed Committee of the Ozarks monthly meeting for December was filled with big news and good memories of the year. With standing room only, we announced our LEED Gold certification for the C.W. Titus Education Facility at the Watershed Center.  Melissa Cox, representing the U.S. Green Building Council, was present to help us make the announcement, and many of the board and community members instrumental in the process were recognized. We also said thank you to two board members who are leaving our board, Bill Cheek and Leslie Carrier, and we welcomed our new board members Bridget Dierks and Scott Bratcher. We remembered the events of the past year; Loring Bullard’s retirement and Mike Kromrey’s new position as Executive Director, and my addition to the staff as Watershed Center Coordinator. We remembered the passing of one of our board members, Robin Melton.  Looking back on the year, there were many changes, some exciting and joyous, others broke our hearts.  There was something comforting and exciting to see such a full room on our last meeting of the year. We are not experiencing these joys and sorrows alone. Springfield has provided a dedicated and supportive community for which we are very grateful. With them we have shared ups and downs, and we anticipate sharing many victories in the future as a community with a heart for clean water.
