“Counting Butts”

Last week it rained about 3.5 inches in Springfield, and Jordan Creek flooded bigtime.  The watershed hadn’t had a bath in a while, and the runoff was really dirty as you can see in the photo. This is not terribly surprising or unusual, just a visual reminder that we have work to do.  In contrast, the Bull Creek, with its mostly forested watershed, received a similar amount of rain and rose only a few inches and stayed clear!

If you can count the cigarette butts headed for Jordan Creek in the photo we’ll give you a WCO T-Shirt!
