Fall Field Trip
Fall is here and the Watershed Center is busy with field trips! This morning we had a group of 85 homeschoolers, grades kindergarten through 6th grade. They explored trails, observed nature by journaling, examined macroinvertebrates through a magnifying glass, saw different types of non-point source pollution with the Enviroscape and created stream channels while learning about erosion at the stream table.
As Benjamin Franklin said “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.” The Watershed Center is a place to do just that, a place for children to be involved in a hands on approach to learning about nature.
