The Watershed Center is a wonderful place for a hike, a field trip, a meeting, or a picnic. You can go fishing, bird watching, running, or walking just a few minutes from downtown Springfield. For more than a decade the Watershed Committee of the Ozarks has been working to improve the property
around Valley Water Mill Lake using techniques that protect our land and water, increase accessibility to visitors and students, and add value to the community. Visit our completed projects page to see all of the many features we have been able to add to the site. You can follow the link here.

As we celebrate our own 30th anniversary, we also celebrate the 25th anniversary of Missouri Stream Teams. In honor of both milestones, we are having a special event hosted at the Watershed Center. Tomorrow night we will have an open house for all visitors who want to learn more about our LEED Gold certified Education Facility and our Low Impact Development approach to landscaping, parking lots, and trails. It is sure to be a good time and even if you have been many times before, I think you might learn something new. We hope to see you there.
