Today is a very active day for the Watershed Committee of the Ozarks. This afternoon we have two Jordan Creek tours and a Watershed Center field trip scheduled, and all at about the same time!  One Jordan Creek tour is in coordination with the Missouri State University’s English Language Institute, the other is open to anyone who would like to come.  Students from Nixa’s summer school program will spend the afternoon learning about “Gross Science” out here at Valley Water Mill Lake.  But this week is not the end of it.  There are many fun activities planned for our summer yet!

Starting on Monday, July 8th, students who are 3rd through 5th grade will be spending four days at the Watershed Center learning about Watershed Science in partnership with the Discovery Center of Springfield.  Expect to get wet and have a lot of fun!  Details and registration info can be found HERE or visiting the Discovery Center’s Website.

The week following, July 15-19, the Watershed Center will be the home of the first Ozark Summer Watershed Academy.  A diverse group of professionals throughout the community will come and speak on a variety of topics related to Watershed Management.  The course will include presentations, field trips, hand-on activities, and some great informative materials.  If you would like to attend, fill out the registration form below!  Be sure to bring your lunch and some water shoes!  View the Agenda here.

If you have any questions about the events that we do, please contact me at rob@watershedcommittee.org or call 833-8525. Thanks for reading
