The WCC provides a strong educational component for crew members, focusing on Missouri ecology and safety. Crew members are trained in herbicide application and operate as pesticide technicians under a certified commercial applicator. Crew members are well-versed in invasive species management and are knowledgeable about management methods to tackle invasive species. Crews are trained in wildfire suppression and posses “red cards”. Our program manager is also trained in Wilderness First Aid and is a certified timber harvester.
Our crew is prepared to meet all project needs within the scope of our mission. We provide the following equipment: personal protective equipment, herbicide equipment (ex. backpack sprayers, mixing tanks), chainsaws, STIHL brush-cutters, power tools and hand tools (ex. Pulaskis, pick mattocks, McLeods, rakes, shovels, double/single jacks, wheelbarrows, weed whips and handsaws).
