Watershed Center Coordinator Job Announcement

Watershed Committee of the Ozark’s mission is to sustain and improve our water resources through education and effective management of the region’s watersheds. The Watershed Committee of the Ozarks is seeking a Watershed Committee Coordinator (WCC). The WCC is a critical role in our organization responsible for designing, planning and implementing Watershed Center education and outreach programs, supervising volunteers, planning educational events, and also taking care of a variety of tasks at the Watershed Center at Valley Water Mill Park. The successful candidate balances technical knowledge and the ability to work with a wide range of community members. The WCC must have the ability to work independently, foster relationships with community partners, establish work priorities and manage time effectively.

Job requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree is required; master’s degree is preferred
Teaching experience, preferably with a variety of age groups
Enough background in science to advise on-site research projects, internships, and partnerships with local universities
Ability to foster relationships with WCO staff and external stakeholders
Effective communication skills and the ability to write in diverse formats, from social media to grant proposals
Familiarity with and willingness to participate in land and site management activities such as maintaining trails, implementing a forest stewardship management plan, planting trees, etc.
Experience working with volunteers

This position pays between $30,000 and $36,000 per year commensurate with experience. Benefits are provided to all full-time WCO staff and include health and dental insurance, retirement including employer contribution, a phone stipend and the added benefit of working with some of the best folks around.
