Last Friday, a new group of 5th grade students visited the Watershed Center during their first week of school at Wonders of the Ozarks Learning Facility, or WOLF. Having spent a day at Bois D’Arc Conservation Area earlier that week studying water quality, the kids jumped right in to the South Dry Sac River for some benthic macroinvertebrate sampling and chemical testing. The weather was warm and sunny, and the kids had a great time getting their feet wet in some watershed science.
