February Meeting on World Wetlands Day
Our next Meeting will take place on Friday Feb. 2nd!
Join us at 7:30 a.m. at the Watershed Center to learn about Wetland Conservation with MDC’s Frank NelsonÂ
On World Wetlands Day, Frank Nelson will present “Celebrating Wetlands in Missouri and Around the World,” a perspective on Missouri’s wonderous wetlands and their conservation needs. Frank has worked for the Missouri Department of Conservation for the past 20 years to help advance wetland conservation in Missouri. He has played different roles through strategic planning, research, working with wetland managers, renovating infrastructure, and communicating with the public. He now serves as the Wetland Systems Manager in the Statewide Resource Management Branch. He is working to conserve and promote the full spectrum of Missouri’s wetlands, their biodiversity, and the benefits these critical habitats provide people. Integrating the built and natural environment with nature-based solutions in these habitats is of keen interest.
Following the presentation, Steve Runnels with the National Weather Service will give a quarterly update, and meeting attendees are encouraged to share brief updates.
This meeting will be at the Watershed Center, 2400 E Valley Water Mill Road, Springfield, MO 65803.
