September Monthly Meeting

Our September Monthly Meeting is on Sept. 6th, at 7:30 a.m. at the Watershed Center.

We are excited to welcome Andrew Schiller, Environmental Program Specialist with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MO DNR), who will present “Building Missouri’s Streamgage Network.” With 14 years of experience in Missouri, including his role as Chapter President of the Springfield Plateau Chapter of the Missouri Master Naturalists, Andy brings a wealth of knowledge on environmental and hydrological issues. In 2022, MO DNR received funding to expand its streamgage network, integrating new sensors alongside the existing USGS network. These advanced gages monitor crucial water parameters, offering real-time data vital for flood management and hydrological analysis. Join us to delve into this significant project and its impact on the Missouri Hydrology Information Center’s mission.

Following Mr. Schiller’s presentation, Kara Tvedt with the Missouri Department of Conservation Service will give a quarterly update, and meeting attendees are encouraged to share brief updates.

The meeting will be at the Watershed Center, 2400 E Valley Water Mill Road, Springfield, MO 65803.
