On behalf of all the federal employees within the greater Springfield area, I wanted to express our appreciation for the outpouring of love shown by the community as the government workers were involved in a 35-day shutdown.
As a member of the Watershed Committee of the Ozarks for over a decade and a half, I have witnessed this cooperation with different entities throughout the greater Springfield area working together to protect the community’s sources of drinking water through education, demonstration, policy coordination, monitoring and cost-sharing with landowners on better management practices.  This organization exemplifies the community spirit shown by businesses that supported the government workers during the government shutdown. Some examples of businesses that illustrated community support are: Alamo Draft House, Community Foundation of the Ozarks, City of Nixa, Tanger Outlets, Lucky’s Market, Ozarks Food Harvest, and Fazoli’s – to name a few.
Thank you for your support and willingness to assist government workers when they were in need. The outpouring of love and support was greatly appreciated. We live in an area where support is given to those in need. On behalf of all the government workers who were directly impacted throughout the greater Springfield area by the government shutdown, we thank each of you.
